Herbal & Medicinal Plants Zone
The Herbal & Medicinal Plants Zone at the Nico Roozen International Center of Excellence for Regenerative Agriculture celebrates the age-old wisdom of India’s traditional healing systems, integrated with modern sustainable farming practices.
This zone is a living repository of nature’s pharmacy, showcasing a diverse range of medicinal species such as Tulsi, Ashwagandha, Aloe Vera, Giloy, Lemongrass, Vetiver, Shatavari, Moringa, and Turmeric, cultivated under regenerative principles.
Why it matters in Regenerative Agriculture:
• Biodiversity Enhancement: Medicinal plants attract pollinators and beneficial insects, strengthening the farm’s ecological balance.
• Soil Healing: Many species improve soil structure, organic matter, and microbial activity.
• Climate Resilience: These hardy plants thrive in low-input conditions and tolerate climatic stress.
• Farmer Livelihoods: They offer high-value, low-risk diversification and income opportunities.
• Health & Nutrition Linkages: They reconnect agriculture with nutrition, wellness, and preventive healthcare.
